Sidebars are prime real estate, ya’ll. They’re one of the few pieces of your site that can show up for every single visitor that comes to your site. And when you’re sending a bunch of cold traffic to the site (thanks, Pinterest) you need to make sure you’re capturing as much of them as possible so they come back and become a part of your community.
In order to do this you need to make sure that sidebar is used efficiently. Evaluate your blog goals and set the sidebar up to support that.
If your goal is to create loyal readership (which supports all the other goals below) ▶️ include a place for people to subscribe to your newsletter.
If your goal is to make affiliate income ▶️ include a little @rewardstylehq Shop the Look widget with your top product recommendations for the season.
If your goal is to increase blog post sponsorship rates ▶️ include a list with links to your top posts, so they stay on your site longer and increase traffic numbers.
If your goal is too get Instagram followers ▶️ include a “follow me on Instagram widget” that auto populates your recent posts and tempts them to head on over to the ‘gram.
BTW you can definitely include all 4, but just make sure that you prioritize the order and style of each feature to meet your business goals.
