Okay, these aren’t really new, but you may have missed it because it’s kind of a subtle change. Basically, Pinterest now lets you pick 5 of your boards to be “featured boards”. You can order them and Pinners will see them at the top of your profile when they view your profile.
I had always recommended to people (and included in the strategy for my clients) that the first 5 boards be representative of your business’ brand pillars. Usually, I’d say start with a board that’s a catch all for all content that’s yours (entitled your business name) then a board that holds your Instagram content (entitled your IG handle) and then 3 boards that sum up what people can find when they go to your site. Same thing goes for featured boards! Really, it doesn’t make too much of a difference either way, but these do stand out a little more.⠀
The reason this is important: the goal is always to get them to your site so you want them to qualify themselves and realize what they’re going to get ASAP. Organic Pinterest leads are cold, so you want them to get to know you quickly and get enticed to learn more!⠀
