This weekly Pinterest checklist is made out of what I’m finding is helping Pinterest blogger accounts grow consistently. Pinterest is a long game, so expect results to take 3-6 months, but that shouldn’t stop you from being active! If you only have time for the bare minimum on Pinterest, I would recommend you reference checklist and do all the tasks on the list each week.
Weekly Pinterest Checklist:
Pin all vertical images from new blog posts. Start with new links on your blog first because Pinterest prefers “fresh URL’s” that come from your claimed website. This is what they prioritize and what the algorithm loves to see so that should be first on your Pinterest to-do list.
Turn all new blog posts into text overlay graphics on Canva. This is to make those same images go further so that you can include this new URL in different ways. Custom Pinterest graphic templates are essential because they appeal to different users and also tease the content out in away that entices user to click through for more.
Pin all new vertical photography or shopping graphics on LTK (LIKEtoKNOW.it). It’s better to link these images to go to your blog rather than LTK because the traffic to your site is more easily trackable and also just converts better than sending them to another platfom you don’t own. If possible, link to a shop page on your site or a blog post that these new images correspond with.
Pin This For Later:
Create2 Idea Pins on seasonal or trending topics OR on new blog posts. Idea Pin strategy is a whole beast, but I believe they are worth it even if you don’t have the linkable Idea Pins yet. Pinterest prioritizes idea pins like Instagram prioritizes reels so it’s important to play their game in a way that serves you. Your chances of getting an Idea Pin reach more people are higher if the topic is trending or seasonal BUT if you don’t have any content of that nature, new blog post topics can be great to. Just make sure to add a call to action so users know what to do to connect to you after receiving the value from your idea pins.
Repurpose older seasonal or trending blog posts by adding them to new text overlay graphic template. Make old blog posts fresh to Pinterest again by creating new graphics. This is a great way to meet the 45 days ahead of the holiday/season schedule without having to create content 2 months earlier than you typically would.
