In-App Editing: Cropping Pins Without Leaving Tailwind

Tailwind now lets you edit pins directly in the app. This is a game-changer because you don’t need Canva or Photoshop for quick tweaks.

How I use it:

• Resize/Crop images to be ideal pin size (2:3)
• Slightly edit pins (like with a border) to keep them “fresh” in the eyes of Pinterest… this is a more advanced technique for pinning that I don’t teach BUT that we do use for clients.

This saves time in Canva especially for blog Pinterest accounts that do well with a lot of photos or that have a lot of horizontal images they need adjusted.

Interval Pinning: Spread Out Your Content Automatically

Interval Pinning is a feature that schedules the same pin across different boards over time instead of all at once. This helps you share the same pin to multiple boards without doing so in a spammy way (aka one right after another)

How I use it:

• Schedule one pin to multiple boards with about 7-10 days in between
• Increase visibility to a pin without having to upload multiple copies

Interval pinning is helpful for evergreen content that you want to circulate strategically without overwhelming your audience or even for seasonal content that you’re starting to pin early (as you should!) but know it needs to go out in peak season as well.

How We Actually Use Tailwind to Drive Traffic

Here’s a typical workflow for a client:

1. Purchase Tailwind Advanced for $24.99/month (if you want 5-10 pins/day, but there is a tier down if you don’t plan on pinning that frequently)
2. Organize boards into Board Lists by topic
3. Upload all pin graphics and images for the blog post
4. Edit any irregular sized images to be the idea 2:3 vertical pin ratio
5. Use the interval feature to space out sending the same URL
6. Repeat the above with the other blog posts we want to share that week
7. Schedule 5-10 pins/day to the recommended times with a mix of new blog posts and new graphics that link to older, relevant blog posts
8. Check Pinterest analytics monthly to see what’s performing
